On February 24th, 2010, Ms. Wohlfarth, the Vice President of Liebherr GmbH in Germany, and the General Manager of the French Factory and the General Manager of Dalian Company visited the Deutz FAW (Dalian) Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. Deutz FAW Dachai began cooperation with Liebherr Dalian in 2008 to jointly develop the loader project and install the Deutz 2012C diesel engine. After a year and a half of collaborative development and experimentation, Deutz products have been fully recognized by Liebherr. This WHL556 loader will be exhibited at the BMW Shanghai Construction Machinery Exhibition in 2010 and is scheduled to be supplied in small quantities by the end of August 2010. Based on the good cooperation between the two parties, the purpose of Liebherr's high-level visit was to understand Deutz FAW Diesel and its product and market strategy, and explore the joint development of the excavator market. In the conference room of the Deutz FAW Dachai No. 2 Plant, Mr. Kissel, the company’s technical director, introduced the company’s situation and product strategy to the guests, especially the development plan of the Tier 3 (engineering machinery third emission stage) product; industrial engine Mr. Steynitz, the Minister of Sales, introduced the project, market and service situation. Mr. Ganglbauer, the factory manager of the second factory, led the guests to visit the factory. Liebherr executives highly praised Deutz FAW Dachai, and expressed particular interest in Tier 3 products. Both parties plan to jointly develop the Tier 3 excavator. The goal is to provide a prototype at the end of 2010 and mass production in 2012.
